Is ADD contagious? I mean, really? I think I’ve caught it or something. Just kidding!
Seriously though, just when I think things are going great in my neighborhood, I see a great new neighborhood terrain…or some great custom content, and BAM! Jade, I know why it took you so long to build Thyme…at the rate I’m going, The Sims 3 will have come and gone by the time I’m done with this. *sigh*
But I’m having fun, so I guess that’s all that really matters. Right?
So, basically what I’m saying is…I’m starting over. Big surprise there, eh? I guess I’m just indecisive…and I am this close to buying SC4 so I can make my own neighborhood terrain. Don’t get me wrong, there are some amazing terrains out there. But, every time I find one I like, I still think to myself…”I wish there was…” So the hunt continues…yet again.
My husband helped me build this great lighthouse and house on a beach lot. (I stink at building things, but my husband rocks!) And of course, my neighborhood is named Emerald Cove…ya know, implying that there actually is a cove. *wink* But I despair of finding a hood with a usable beach that works for me. I really really really want to use the lighthouse lot.
That’s enough for now. I’m just chattering.

I’m still seriously thinking about getting my own domain and host for Emerald Cove. I think I’ve found a place to host my site, but I’m really a bit clueless when it comes to this kind of thing. So, if anyone has a suggestion, please drop me a comment. I could really use some help on this. Thanks!

It really does. Sometimes it feels like we’re never going to catch a break. There’s that saying, “When it rains, it pours.” Not always true, but when it is…dang. Life is flood for us right now and it makes me so angry. I can’t go into specifics, but let’s just say I’m tired of companies lying to my husband to get him to work for them. Twice now it’s happened. We’re mid-twenties and still barely eking by. He’s got a college degree and loads of certifications that should be opening doors, but apparently luck is passing us by or something. Grrr. Anyway, just wanted to vent for a minute.

I finally have begun some real work on Emerald Cove. I found a terrain I liked and I have most of my lots plopped down and set where I want them (for now.) I posted a little preview of one of the homes over on Emerald Cove. Go have a look and tell me what you think!

There is so much beautiful custom content out there. If I don’t stop downloading soon, my Downloads folder is going to explode.
In other news, I scrapped my neighborhood…yet again. I found myself going in a country-style direction, which I don’t want to do. I always do country, so I refuse to do it yet again. I want a historic feel to my neighborhood, without being historic…if that makes any sense. I’m trying to decide whether I want to do a Victorian-style (because I found some awesome Victorian stuff), Georgian, or Tudor…or something else. Well, probably not Tudor. If I was going to do that, I might as well just play Veronaville.
I’m also still having a bit of trouble finding a neighborhood terrain I like. But I’ll get there. There will be no pictures until I finally settle on something I like and am going to stick with.

I, being unable to make up my mind, have scrapped both of my previous ideas. I am going to try and build a neighborhood from scratch. Jade and Jen inspire me, though mine won’t be nearly as good. I’m going to give it a go though, as it looks like soooo much fun!
I’ve been trying to find a good small neighborhood terrain, but I haven’t had any luck so far. They’re all either too big or too small. In moments like these, I really wish I had SC4. Oh well. I’ve also been shopping (a.k.a. downloading) like a mad woman. Houses, sims, clothes, furniture…I’m also looking into the body shapes (by Warlokk) but haven’t quite decided on that. I like the idea, I don’t want all of my sims to be exactly alike. We’ll see. I might try it and see how I like it.

First, I’d like to apologize for my absence. I know I promised updates, but things have happened. My grandfather passed away on the 28th after a very long illness. So if you would all keep my grandmother in your thoughts and prayers, it would be greatly appreciated.
Also, my Sims game exploded. My techie husband couldn’t figure out the problem or how to fix it, so I was forced to reinstall. I tried to save the Marshalls, but it made my game explode again…so they have been scrapped. I think I am doomed to never finish a legacy. I was really enjoying the Marshall’s, but alas, it was not to be. So, I think I’m going to give up the legacy idea for now and try something different. I haven’t decided what, exactly, but I’ll figure it out soon enough. Maybe a Prosperity…I’ve also been thinking about something called the Biblical Challenge. The rules can be found here: http://www.forums.boolprop.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=22602
It looks really hard, which is, of course, why it appeals to me. :-P So, I’m off to do some internet searching to help me decide what challenge to do.
